This illustration was recently created by Garrison Studios to show what pterygium looks like in the human eye. Pterygium, also known as Surfer’s eye, is a common condition that affects people who spend a considerable amount of time outdoors. It usually starts in the conjunctiva and can spread across the sclera to the cornea.
