Vector-Borne diseases are bacterial and viral infections spread from one organism to another, such as West Nile virus, Dengue virus, Chikungunya virus, Zika virus, Ehrlichia bacteria, and Rickettsia bacteria.

Depicted in this illustration by Todd Buck is a young woman with symptoms of dengue fever: skin rash, joint pain, and expression of malaise (a headache, fever). West Nile viruses float below while mosquito, tick, and flea represent carriers and spreaders of infectious agents.
