Sliced Bread Animation is a fully integrated digital production company that consistently produces immersive, captivating experiences. The London-based animation studio, led by Christina Vilics and Jamie Denham, is always pushing the boundaries of design and technology—the team creates everything from augmented reality content to animated illustrations to web- and mobile-based applications.

One of the studio’s most fascinating projects involves using medical virtual reality (VR) to create in-game 3D models, animation and lighting for the Oculus Rift game, “Diabetes Voyager.”

Here is the studio’s description of the game:

“’Diabetes Voyager’ is an educational, 360 degree, virtual reality experience created to highlight the challenges faced by HCPs in diabetes management….The Voyager teleports you inside the body of a patient, where you are challenged to improve the patient’s control of their diabetes–a task that takes you on a journey through the heart, vascular system and brain.”

The Voyager game was tested by 300 delegates during a three-day corporate conference. Over the course of the event, the delegates experienced a combined total of 35 hours of virtual reality existence!
