Artist Renée Cannon holds a BA from SDSU and a Master’s Degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine. Professionally, she has been recognized with an award of excellence from the Association of Medical Illustrators and nominated for the James P. Diduisch award for Excellence in Surgical Illustration by the American Urological Association.
In 2004, Renée received awards for her work in pharmaceutical marketing and education representing Sage Products Inc. She is a professional member of the AMI and CMI Board certified. Renée served on the board of trustees for the Vesalius Trust for education and research in biomedical communications from 1996-2004. In 1997, she started Medcom Studios, providing a wide range of biomedical communications. She specializes in surgical education and has extensive experience in surgical, editorial, patient information, and medical-legal illustration.
