Russell Weekes: Myostatin Inhibition

Russell Weekes: Myostatin Inhibition

Myostatin is a protein produced and released by myocytes to act as muscle cells’ on/off function to inhibit muscle cell growth and differentiation.

This illustration by Russell Weekes depicts what happens when cows have been treated with substances that block the myostatin activity resulting in significant increase in muscle mass.
