Ovarian cancer is the seventh most common cancer worldwide and one of the hardest to treat. This is largely because many tumors develop resistance to first-line treatment: platinum-based chemotherapy.

Lucy Reading-Ikkanda worked with David Holmes, editor of Nature Reviews, to illustrate a 2 page spread infographic that introduces the problem with platinum therapy and elaborates on new experimental therapies that are more likely to help knock out the deadly tumors.

Her final graphics were translated into an animation by Dog and Rabbit.
