The nasolacrimal drainage system serves as a channel for tear flow from the external eye to the nasal cavity. The system is made up of the puncta, canaliculi, lacrimal sac and nasolacrimal duct.

Joe Chovan‘s artwork illustrates the trajectory of the drainage system, as the lacrimal fluid (or tears) secreted by the lacrimal gland and accessory glands flow to the canaliculi through the puncta.
